Basics of Bathroom Interior Design

Bathroom is the place where the interests of all members of the family cross. Except when you have a separate bathroom for parents, separate for children and a bathroom. But if we are talking about a common bathroom, you need to take into account the preferences and needs of all members of the family.

How to Design Perfect Bathroom

In the bathroom all the finishing materials, sanitary equipment, furniture and lighting, should be not only beautiful, but also convenient and safe.

The bathroom is almost the only place where one is alone with him/herself every day. Hence, a positive psychological background, the absence of discomfort are very important.

It is assumed that the installed bathroom is once and for all. The design of the bathroom should survive the change of age and taste preferences of their owners, be universal.

For this the project design of the bathroom (or the selection of tiles, sanitary ware, furniture and lighting in the store) you must observe the following rules:

1. The proportionality of the parts of the interior

The size of different parts of the interior must correspond to each other. This means, for example, that you can’t put small equipment with small patterns near large-sized tiles. The size and shape of the pattern on the walls must not argue with accessories, and the size of the tiles must correspond to the dimensions of the room.

In a small bathroom it will be quite ridiculous to install some kinds of columns and beams. In such bathrooms, avoid excessive use of decorative elements.

2. The alternation of elements

As for the graphic design of the surfaces, the visual perception of different rhythms and directions of patterns should be taken into account. Horizontal lines stretch the wall in width and shorten in height. Vertical lines, on the contrary, increase the height of the room and reduce its width. Broken lines visibly deform the space. Diagonal lines do not change the visual size of the room. Curves express movement and input some dynamics to the interior.

Keep in mind that bright, contrast figures are not suitable for small bathrooms. Small and frequent patterns made in light tones are perfect for walls or floors in a small bathroom.

3. Illumination of the interior

The illumination of an interior is a system of various lighting devices, which carry out the functional, aesthetic and emotional tasks with respect to the purpose of the room. The most correct approach to the issues of lighting is to solve all at the moment of the development of the project of the bathroom. In this case, you can estimate beforehand how all interior components will interact.

Light can influence the physical and emotional state of a person and visually change the space. Correctly chosen lighting will mark out all the advantages of the bathroom.

Bathrooms require bright lighting. However, when you enter the bathroom, you mustn’t suffer from the excess or lack of light.

If the bathroom is loaded with lighting elements, it is best to use small lamps. And only when the plumbing and faucets in the bathroom look unobtrusive, the lamp can be used as a bright decorative element.
