When there are two or three of you living in a small apartment, there’s actually no need for a huge, massive dining table, plus there might not be enough room for it. A stylish, convenient alternative can be a coffee table, which can be a place to either put your books and magazines on, or to have a nice tasty meal.
The criteria for this list are the same:
- Ability to fit into any interior
5 unusual coffee tables
№5: Liquid Glacial Table by Zaha Hadid Architects and David Gill Galleries
A very interesting, long glass coffee table, which looks as though it is water pouring down. One of those really unusual designs, when you just won’t stop wondering at it.
Pluses: A mind-blowing design; due to its transparency can fit into almost any room
Minuses: Fragile (not suitable for places with little children); again, because of its transparency, even the tiniest dirt spot will be seen, especially fingerprints; As we can see on the photographs, there are some sort of holes on the table – might be the cause for spilling your coffee out of the cup
№ 4: Mixtape table by Jeff Skierka
This hipster wooden coffee table will make any activity on it a fun one. May even serve as an inspiration for creative people.
Pluses: made of wood (guarantees some sort of firmness); very cool design; the surface is made of glass, which I guess can be replaced by necessity
Minuses: An alternative mostly for young people, who will eventually grow out of the hipster movement; won’t fit into every interior
№ 3: X-Plus Table by Xiaoxi Shi
A very functional construction, made of 2 triangles, which can serve not only as a small coffee table (either 2 small tables, or 1 a bit larger), but also as, again, either 1 stool or 2 little stools. Can be very convenient for picnics
Pluses: functionality – tons of ways to use it; little size – doesn’t take much room whether in your room or in your car
Minuses: A very boring and rough design; even though it is small and might not be that noticeable, I would put it in the corner of my room; I would assume that it is very rough to sit on
№ 2: Scrap Marble Tables by John Reeves
A great, funky and cheering collection of three tables of different sizes. By placing all of them into one room, you will get a smooth, harmonious look of your room, because of the same design for different tables.
Pluses: different sized tables for different purposes; neutral colored surface; easy to disassemble if needed
Minuses: the colorful legs of the table may not fit into any room; an ordinary table (not much functions)
№ 1: Rising Table by Robert van Embricqs
The table that answers to all of the criteria is this exclusive wooden coffee table that can easily become absolutely flat if necessary.
Pluses: A beautiful and pleasant design, even the gap in the middle can serve as a place for maybe some little dry flowers; can be folded and put away if additional space is needed; the light and soft color of the wood lets us use this table in all sorts of interiors. Also, the size of the table is just right for having a light meal or a family gathering with a cup of tea
Minuses: because of the little gaps, may be dangerous when there are little children around, if they accidentally put their fingers in there
